It doesn’t happen very often anymore, but every once in a rare while I’ll have a great night’s sleep…you know, the kind of care-free no worries sleep that maybe I used to have years ago before the world went and got crazy, or at least before I became aware of what was happening in the world beyond the end of my block.
I had one of those the other night. I don’t know why - I really shouldn’t have, but I did. The next morning when I woke, everything even seemed normal for a moment or two; but alas the ‘normalcy’ quickly gave way, as the morning fog cleared, to the reality - or should I say surreality - that is life in the United States these days.
Over the past several days, I’ve had to back away from politics a bit just to clear my head. It was really getting too much, you know? I’m not a political guy, at least I never used to be. I have a wife, a couple of kids - one who is in the work force and another headed to college in the fall -Â a regular job, a mortgage…I like to ride dirt bikes on the weekend, drink a beer once in a while, and just live my life knowing that everything my family and I have built, worked for and aspired to would be safe as long as we continued to work hard and do the right thing. Why? because we lived in the greatest country in the world, and that’s how things work here.
Yes, I always knew that politicians were corrupt, but at the end of the day I also believed - unbelievably and embarrassingly naively, in retrospect - that the country’s best interests were still being served. I mean, no American, no matter how greedy, would sell their own country out.
These days, unemployment in my house is at 50% with no prospects on the horizon. Our economy is in a shambles, and the two men most responsible for it, Barney Frank and Chris Dodd, still have their jobs, with the arrogance of both of these creeps soaring to stratospheric new heights. We have a supremely unqualified president in office who is hell-bent on taking from the ‘haves’ and redistributing to the ‘have-nots’, all with the blessing of what is possibly the most willfully ignorant electorate in the country. We have a deranged (and I mean that quite seriously) speaker of the house calling the shots, writing bills against all sane advice that seem specifically designed to bankrupt the country while at the same time locking the minority party out of the process; a far left majority in congress who believe that foreign nationals who break our laws should be rewarded with citizenship rights, a homeland defense secretary who not only shares that belief, but who has actually ordered ICE agents to stop enforcing the law.…
In less than three months, our entire system has been turned upside down.
Who the FUCK do these people think they are?
And now…..Obama wants to shoot some sort of pollutant into the upper atmosphere to slow global arming, and, oh, by the way, he’s beginning his push for amnesty for illegal aliens.
This president and this congress MUST be stopped while there’s still something left of our country to salvage. While I hold out some hope that conservatives might be able to take back congress in 2010, that’s just too far away; Obama will have amnesty in place by then in some form or other. The only hope we have is massive, massive public outcry and demonstration against any form of amnesty, and I just don’t have faith that our stupid, lazy electorate will get off their asses to do something, let alone bother to even learn what’s going on.
So why do I get involved? Why do I write this crap at 2am when I have to be at work in six hours, or call and write our representatives, or try to inform others and get them involved in the process?
The answer is that I have no choice. I have to do something. Anything. To sit by and not get involved would be to just give it all away, and that is simply not an option.
I want our country back. I just wish I knew how to get it done.

I am with you on this, Obama and our elected officials have to be stopped! We are on a collision course to certain disaster if we do not stop these idiots who are really our worst enemies and who have set everything up to work out in their favor because all of the people in really important powerful positions are left wing liberal nut jobs and I am ashamed to say that I was once brainwashed by these liars and criminals and I will never be labeled a liberal again. You are not alone.
Finally a blogger with guts. Waiting until 2010 to get a few more Republicans in office just isn’t going to cut it. Tea Parties, while I admire the people who are getting off their butts to go to them, are not going to cut it. Theh reason they’ve turned our country upside down in three short months is because it’s straight out of the Marxist playbook. Go ahead, call me a conspiracy theorists and ignore the signs.
Republicans are with the liberals on so many issues — no, I’m not a Ron Paul supporters. McCain talked about ‘compassion’ towards illegal immigrants. Both parties in Congress sat on their butts for decades knowing illegals were streaming into our country. They gave amnesty in 1987. They knew. Both parties want to stay joined at the hip with NATO and the UN.
I say, number one, we start local groups in our cities and towns. Brigitte Gabriel’s Act for America is a good one because they’re already established. Use these groups to inform (most likely) Republicans who really don’t understand the depth of trouble we’re in. Use videos, short succinct presentations with bullet lists and resources — rather than long rambling philosophical speeches. Inform anyone who has spent more time watching American Idol than paying attention what is really going on with Europe’s failures, our demographics and the negative results that will occur, anything the mainstream media isn’t telling them.
And … get in touch with militias — they’re legal. What is the cut-off point, when they try to take our guns?
