I’m going to cut through the bullshit and get right to it.
I defy anyone to to show me so much as one area, be it social, economic, educational or political, which has been improved by illegal immigration. Just one.
Go ahead, take as much time as you need….
You can’t, can you?
That’s because illegal immigration has been a blight on our country in every conceivable way. Crime? Up. Unemployment? Up. Welfare roles? Bursting at the seams and unsustainable. Health care? The burden placed on the health care system by illegals has forced countless hospitals out of business nationwide, including one in my former hometown of Port Chester, New York. States like California, with one of the largest illegal alien populations in the country, are bankrupt. States like North Carolina, with it’s estimated illegal population of 300,000 - currently the 8th highest illegal population in the country - are also dealing with tremendous state budget shortfalls.

Illegal alien crime runs the gamut from identity theft, to gang activity (the ultra-violent MS-13 is composed mainly of illegal Salvadorans, Hondurans, Guatemalans, and Nicaraguans), drugs, rape, murder, human trafficking, astronomical rates of drunk driving deaths/murders….hardly a day goes by where we don’t read about a citizen getting creamed by some drunk illegal. Just recently here in Raleigh, a 72 year old man was hit by not one, but two separate illegals, both of whom left the scene of the crime. The victim died.
Current estimates of Illegals in the federal prison system put their numbers somewhere between 24 and 33 percent of all federal prisoners. Even on the low side, that is huge.
There is simply no way for an honest, rational person to deny the facts that are right in front of our noses, but both the liberal left and corporate America will continue to push for amnesty for these illegal invaders - and will in all likelihood get it this year - unless unless we stand up en masse to stop it. The tea party thing was a start, but we need to channel that outrage into specific issues as needed; with Schumer pushing amnesty this week, there is no time to lose.
According to a recent Rasmussen poll, 87% of Americans believe it is at least “somewhat important” to get control of our borders and reduce illegal immigration, while 66% believe it is “very important”. However - and not all that surprisingly - among the ‘political class’, who according to Rasmussen ‘tend to have more confidence in political leaders and less trust in the wisdom of the American people’, only 32% believe that it is ‘very important’.

How important is it for the government to improve its enforcement of the borders and reduce illegal immigration?Very important 66% Somewhat important 21% Not very important 9% Not at all important 2% Not sure 1%

My personal opinion of the ‘political class’ as described above is that they are fools. Anyone who puts that level of trust in the government - any government - is virtually guaranteeing a life of servitude for themselves and their future generations. Governments should not be trusted. Ever. Why? Just look around….if you’re over the age of 35, this country is unrecognizable to you from the country of your youth. Somewhere along the way, we lost our skepticism….we got complacent, we took our eyes off the ball and allowed the radical left to maneuver themselves into the highest positions of power. And now we’re trying to rationalize allowing 30+ million illegals who are taking our jobs, driving down wages, driving our country into financial ruin, destroying our culture, and many of whom are killing, raping and robbing our citizens, to stay here rather than doing the sane thing and getting them out.
It is wrong, and I am ashamed of what we’ve become. If you support amnesty, you should be ashamed too. Of yourself.

Excellent post Cnation! I would offer the following.
My wife and I are life-long liberal Democrats, but that fact doesn’t make us fools. The more we learn about the policies and budget priorities of our party’s leadership and its office holders at both the state and national levels, the more we believe they think we and millions of other Democrats who think as we do are really just big fools. Democratic politicians tell us they are doing many things to help the middle class, but instead what we find are concerted efforts to push through with virtually no oversight laws that benefit corporations and illegal aliens at the expense of US workers and citizens. The policies currently pursued by Democratic politicians at both the state and national level, if successful, will create a sword of Damocles over the heads of our children and grandchildren’s future; unbelievable debt and completely unsustainable over population. In the best of times this approach would be reprehensible, but with the economic/jobs situation we face today the party’s efforts, particularly for illegal aliens, are UNFORGIVABLE.
A middle class, that our party purports to represent, requires a tight labor market and strong legal protections for the bargaining rights of workers. Without these two essential elements, workers will never be able to achieve and maintain equivalent traditional post WWII middle class incomes. No matter what politicians or anyone else says, if jobs can be and are outsourced (Free Trade/Global Economy) or in-sourced (massive immigration, legal and illegal), then there can be no tight labor market and the middle class will continue to wither away and workers’ standard of living and working conditions will continue to get worse and worse. The veracity of what we say can be clearly seen in the consequences suffered by the middle class from these cheap labor policies; policies we would note large majorities of the American people opposed when they were implemented. All middle class American families have gotten from the cheap labor policies of the past 30 years are massive increases in public and private debt, reduced incomes, high bankruptcy levels, failing schools, deteriorating infrastructure and a drastically reduced quality of life. And this is what our party not only wants to continue but exacerbate? This is the change we need? I don’t think so.
We want every politician to know that when they or the media talk about “free trade” or “we are in a global economy,” all we hear them saying is they want cheap labor and a poor standard of living for our family. When anyone tells us we are “a nation of immigrants” so we have to accept 12-20+ million illegal aliens and tens of millions of legal immigrants,” what we hear them telling us is they want cheap labor, a poor standard of living for our family, and 439 million people in the country by 2050. When anyone, particularly Democratic politicians, tells us we are bigots, xenophobes, nativists, or haters of brown people if we oppose amnesty for illegal aliens and want our laws enforced, all we hear them telling us is they want cheap labor and a poor standard of living for our family, and 439 million people in the country by 2050. When we hear anyone say illegal aliens only do jobs American citizens won’t do, all we hear them saying is they want cheap labor and a poor standard of living for our family, and 439 million people in the country by 2050. We have had nearly 30 years of this free trade/global economy and massive immigration experiment, and by any measure it has been and absolute failure for American workers and US citizens. Don’t double down with this looser!
This is completly ridiculous! Go die!
Your response has ‘high school student’ written all over it, so - knowing what they’re teaching you these days - I’ll cut you some slack.
It’s always easiest to take a cheap shot and run away, but if you’d ever like to come back and expand on your position a bit, you’re more than welcome.
As for the ‘go die” thing, you’re going to have to be patient. Sorry.
