A thinking, feeling human being should, at their core, have some minimum level of decency, some minimum level of compassion for fellow human beings below which their God-given sense of right and wrong, good and evil, will override their everyday passions and politics; a point below which they will put aside their superficial and even deeply-held beliefs, if only just for a moment, to join with their fellow human beings to say “This Is WRONG!”.
By now, we all know about the ACORN expose by filmmakers James O’Keefe and Hanna Giles. The series of tapes they’ve released this week shows O’Keefe and Giles entering ACORN offices in DC, Baltimore, NYC, San Bernadino and now San Diego dressed as a pimp and prostitute. The premise is that they’re looking for advice and assistance in securing funds for a house in which they plan on setting up a prostitution service featuring 12-15 year-old El Salvadoran girls smuggled into the country illegally. In each and every case, the ACORN employees were not only not shocked, but were went out of their way to assist and advise O’Keefe and Giles on subjects such as how to set up the business, hide the money, falsify tax forms, and even smuggle the underage girls into the country for the purposes of prostitution.
Even the most partisan among us should be shocked and disgusted by the ACORN employees’ willingness to facilitate and encourage the building of a child prostitution business. No matter how much we may disagree politically, this is something that should repulse us all, as well as bring universal condemnation of ACORN or anyone else who promotes or is complicit in promoting child prostitution.
So what does the ‘compassionate’ far left have to say about this?
An email dropped into my inbox this evening with a link to an article on this rather sad and pathetic anti-FOX news website (sorry, I refuse to link it here)Â personally attacking James O’Keefe for the job he and Hannah Giles did in exposing ACORN. Throughout the article and extending into the 20 or so comments that followed, the focus of the attack was primarily on O’Keef’s conservative political leanings, as well as some writings on his personal blog in which these losers tried to find something to ridicule. Basically, they ‘dug’, found nothing, and then attacked him anyway. Why? Because that’s what the far left does, lash out like little emotionally unstable children.
What was missing from the article and accompanying comments, however, was any sort of critical analysis of the situation, or acknowledgement – even in passing – that what the ACORN people did was wrong.
The villains, according to these people? O’Keefe. Giles. Beck. Fox. Right Wingers. Conservatives. Republicans.
Here was my response. Not holding my breath expecting it to be approved, but maybe they’ll surprise me:
These two (O’Keefe and Giles) expose an organization intent on helping facilitate child prostitution, and you have a problem with….O’Keefe and Giles?
Are you f*ing kidding me?
In truly classic liberal form, almost to a man you personally attack O’Keefe and Giles but say absolutely nothing about the real issue, which is openly criminal activity by ACORN.
My suggestion to the author of this poorly-written and entirely shameful hit piece, as well as to those passing this link around as though they’re doing the world a favor by ‘exposing’ O’Keefe and Giles: perhaps instead of creating new and increasingly unhinged ways to blame FOX News, Republicans, Glenn Beck, etc…you might instead use the time for some much-needed introspection to perhaps figure what’s gone so horribly wrong in your -own- lives to lead you to the point where you actually believe the filmmakers to be the villains in this thing.
There is something very, very wrong with your thought process.
Next up, we have this video of Ed Schultz, hereafter known as Big Dumb Ed* , interviewing Bertha Lewis of ACORN on MSNBC, hereafter known as the Microsoft National Bias Company*.
Visit msnbc.com for Breaking News, World News, and News about the Economy
Schultz: Oh yeah, the things these people did were bad but AREN’T FOX NEWS AND THE REPUBLICANS TERRIBLE?
This is why they call Schultz ‘Big Dumb Ed”. Actually, it would be easy to take a few shots at Schultz’ staggering lack of intelligence and extreme intellectual dishonesty and leave it at that, but the fact that he and others like him can simultaneously defend ACORN while blaming everything on the republican party and conservatives only further illustrates the degree of derangement that permeates and even defines the far left. Sickening.
What about the child prostitution, ED, or is that the republicans fault too? Or maybe you’re just OK with it.
(as an aside on Bertha Lewis, the more she talks, the further she sinks the chances of even the best attorneys (not to suggest for a second that sleazeball hack moron ACORN attorney Scott Levinson has the chops to deal with any of this) to construct a case against O’Keefe and Giles that couldn’t be immediately destroyed by someone with the minimal intellectual firepower of, oh, I dunno…. a Tilly sister, perhaps.)
The far left in this country has some real problems; problems that extend well beyond a fatally flawed ideology and into what is, in my opinion, some sort of psychosis that actually allows that ideology to trump even something as vile, as morally repugnant, as undeniably evil as the forced prostitution of children.
And they wonder why their agenda is being rejected by the American people.

Yes, what the ACORN workers did was wrong, but the larger point is that there is no prostitution ring, is there? This was a sting operation instigated by the right, to further damage an organization that they want to tie to the President. This was no grand moral statement. It was another instance of the right trying to show their moral superiority, while they have people carrying abominable signs and loaded weapons at rallies, screaming about the President’s right to be President, and then expecting the rest of us to fall meekly in line behind your pompous selves. Sorry, I do not support what happened, but I am not going to stop supporting the President because the right is so determined to undermine him that they would stoop to this kind of stuff either. The people who did this hatchet job are no better than the folks who were taken in by it.
If ACORN was on the up and up, a sting operation would have never revealed anything. It is not what you say in public that really counts, its what is being said in private when no one is supposed to be listening that tell the real stature of the ethics. Ethics arent something that are practice in public only, they are practiced in private. ACORN is a morally and ethically bankrupt organization and they should be cut off from all public funding and access fo public funding. For the CEO to say “have to regain the trust”, a person with any reasonable amount of intelligence would ask “why do you have to regain anything that never should have been lost in the first place?”. Shut ACORN down.
Thankfully, no. But the acorn workers didn’t know that.
Acorns ties to the president and vice-versa are already well established.
Abominable signs? Loaded guns? How about looking past the small handful of nuts that have shown up and acknowledge that the overwhelming majority of protesters have been civil, law abiding, and on-point. Or is it that you don’t acknowledge the validity of dissent unless people are burning the flag, effigys of Bush, and throwing molotov cocktails through department store windows?
What ‘hatchet job’? Did the acorn people not offer to assist the two reporters in breaking a laundry list of federal laws including smuggling underage girls for purposes of prostitution? How can you deny that, or pretend that what is obviously taking place right in front of your very eyes isn’t actually happening? Amazing.
And there you have it, folks. Susan equates the morality of an undercover “sting” operation by conservatives to child prostitution. She explicitly states that Giles and O’Keefe are no better than the ACORN workers who tried to assist with child prostitution.
She might say, “But there was no real child prostitution ring!” But the ACORN workers didn’t know that. They thought they were actually assisting in smuggling underage girls into the country for the purposes of forcing them into sex slavery.
No, Susan, this doesn’t demonstrate that Giles and O’Keefe are “no better” than the ACORN workers. What it demonstrates is your own twisted moral code which equates a sting operation to child prostitution.
Unfortunately there are many many Susans out there in this world. God help us all.
What is the difference whether reporters did an undercover sting or the cops doing an undercover sting operation? No one says to the cops, “hey you misrepresented yourself when you brought down this crime boss or you broke up a narcotics rings resulting in tons of drugs coming off the streets of America”.
Point is, all this wrong doing is private is being made public and being pumped at kids. Somehow it has become vogue to justify in public that it is not bad and “oops, sorry, I will try better honest, next time”
Next time you decide to justify criminal activity, just ask yourself would you teach this behaviour to your kids? Would you tell your son or daughter “Johnny, Suzy, its okay to misrepresent and commit crimes in private just as long as you dont get caught in public” I dont care if you are a Republican, Democrat, Independent, or whatever, you are going to tell your kids its okay to do wrong as long as you dont get caught. Obama needs to come out from a leadership position, if you get caught, no compaasion for you, its prison sentences first, then heavy fines.
For the sake of discussion, what if everything you state above is true? So what? This organization is tied directly to the president. He’s on the record stating he’ll go above and beyond to support them. Don’t feign the high and mighty crap here. This kind of politics has been the norm for Obama since Day One. From this chair, it’s kind of funny when *your* tactics are used against *you* and your only retort is whining.
It’s absolutely amazing how your folks NEVER respond to what’s being said/shown/proven in any manner other than to try to disparage the people doing the talking/showing/proving. DO YOU BELIEVE WHAT ACORN HAS BEEN SHOWN TO BE DOING IS RIGHT?
If all you have to judge on is what’s been presented, then you’re absolutely on the lemming train.
Hatchet job? Please. Maybe the “give them enough rope” tour. Support whomever you like. I’d only hope you ask yourself why this person deserves your support.
