Michelle Malkin: Obama Plays Dumb On ACORN
It strains credulity â no, it snaps credulity in half â to believe Obama âdidnât even knowâ that ACORN was âgetting a whole lot of federal moneyâ given his extensive legal services on behalf of the group and training for its voter education arm, Project Vote. (Go re-read my column from June 2008, âThe ACORN Obama knows,â and all the links for a refresher course.)
Repeat after me: Obama is ACORN. ACORN is Obama. Barack Obama can no more disown ACORN than he could disown his own shadow. more…..

Media Research Center: CBS Disguises Single-Payer Group’s 45,000 Deaths Claim as a ‘Harvard’ Study
Trying to boost the rationale for ObamaCare, Thursday’s CBS Evening News ran two stories from far-left sources, but the network disguised the agenda behind both. Katie Couric announced that âwhile the debate goes on over the cost of insuring everyone, a new study reveals the cost of not doing it. The Harvard study says nearly 45,000 American deaths every year are linked to a lack of insurance.â Neither she, nor reporter Jim Axelrod, noted that the report was really produced by Physicians for a National Health Program, âthe only national physician organization in the United States dedicated exclusively to implementing a single-payer national health program.â more…..

Jonah Goldberg, NRO: A Tackle Box Full of Race Bait
Of all the poisonous, ugly, and intellectually vapid controversies ginned up in my lifetime, the current breakout of St. Vitusâ Dance over the âracistâ opposition to Barack Obama may be the most egregious. Al Sharpton tells CNNâs Larry King that decent and racially sensitive Americans shouldnât let a small minority make health care into a âracial issue.â Someone in the control room surely yelled, âCue the laugh track!â In case you donât get the joke, this entire âdebateâ over whether opposition to Obamaâs health-care reform is racist is totally, completely, and in every way conceivable an invention of the Left. more…..

RealClearPolitics: It’s the Liberty, Stupid
Within days of Saturday’s giant “tea party” rally in Washington, Obama’s supporters in the press began denouncing the protesters as racists. That’s what Jimmy Carter says, and Time‘s Joe Klein, and The American Prospect‘s Paul Waldman, and Paul Krugman and Maureen Dowd at the New York Times, among others.
What is their evidence? Well, they don’t have anyâjust over-active imaginations. Krugman opines that the “driving force” behind the tea party movement is “probablyâŚcultural and racial anxiety,” while Dowd says that when Joe Wilson told Obama he was lying, “what I heard was an unspoken word in the air: You lie, boy!… Some people just can’t believe a black man is president and will never accept it.” Those are the journalistic standards at the Times nowadays: it’s OK to libel half the population based on what you imagine they are “probably” thinking and on words they didn’t say. more…..

Washington Examiner: What next for the Middle America Rebellion of 2009
A day before the event, organizers said a mere 20,000 or so folks had registered for Saturday’s amazing 9/12 march on Washington to protest out-of-control government. What they got was hundreds of thousands of intensely patriotic people who came to the nation’s capitol to yell “Stop!”
Whatever the number of attendees, this was possibly the most significant Washington protest since the civil rights movement’s epic March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom in 1963. Indeed, about all that was lacking was a charismatic leader like Dr. Martin Luther King to deliver an “I have a dream” address for the ages. more…..

Washington Post: Illegal health Care
President Obama has called for a serious and reasoned debate about his plans to overhaul the health-care system. Any such debate must include the question of whether it is constitutional for the federal government to adopt and implement the president’s proposals. Consider one element known as the “individual mandate,” which would require every American to have health insurance, if not through an employer then by individual purchase. This requirement would particularly affect young adults, who often choose to save the expense and go without coverage. Without the young to subsidize the old, a comprehensive national health system will not work. But can Congress require every American to buy health insurance? more…..

Washington Times: Health reformers targeting ‘enemies’
Protest events tightly scripted
Health Care for America Now (HCAN), which is backed by a coalition of labor unions and liberal groups including ACORN and MoveOn.org, organized the protests to target insurance companies and drafted the plan, which describes the demonstrations as part of its “insurance enemies project.”
The document, a copy of which was obtained by The Washington Times, details specific talking points, tactics, props and strategies to stage the protests. It lists goals that include action that “mobilizes our base by animating existing anger about private insurers.” more…..

Track timeline of president’s ties to group immersed in scandals
While ACORN remains riddled in scandal, lawmakers have voted to cut off federal funding to the group, the U.S. Census Bureau has severed ties to the organization â and the White House has blasted its behavior as “unacceptable.” But just how extensive are President Obama’s personal ties to ACORN?
The following is a timeline outlining some of the purported connections between the president and ACORN through the years: more…..

Washington Examiner: America faces a reg-cession, not a recession
Nearly every politician, environmentalist and influential American claims to want to create American jobs, protect our homeland, preserve the environment and become energy-independent. Yet nearly every action our government takes, usually with the support of key groups, produces just the opposite results.
In fact, these stated objectives are impossible to achieve in an ever-worsening atmosphere of regulation. You see, we’re not in a cyclical recession that will end. We aren’t going to wake up one morning and suddenly be in an economic boom. We’re not going to make even a dent in our foreign energy dependence. more…..

American Thinker: The Left Still Doesn’t Get It
Despite steady progress in achieving their ambition, lefties have acquired neither clue nor interest in how things actually work. Imagine the destruction when the revolucion has transferred power from the oppressor class to them.  Suffice that whatever works now isn’t controlled by lefties, which is why whatever does work, works. The lefties’ only work experience has been organizing protests, crafting slogans and manipulating the media.  But regular Americans, in addition to their day jobs in building America and making it work have now also learned the stagecraft of protesting, sloganeering and leveraging the alternative media, while upstaging the mainstream media. more…..
RedState: Defending Against an Alinsky Campaign
Whether heâs studied Alinsky or just puzzled it out on his own, Glen Beck is doing this right. Pick one, personalize him or her by pounding on their bio and donât let up until they have to kick your object to the curb. But more needs to be done at the âWe the Peopleâ level. The real useful idiots in this are the Congressmen, especially all the Rahmbo recruits who pretended to be Republicans to get elected. We need to mau-mau them. They need to be fixed, personalized, and destroyed. Comrade Obama has lots of appratchniks out there to choose from and even if they get fired, they just go into the Democrat shadow government and never miss a paycheck. The useful idiots in Congress have something to lose. If they are forced to resign or lose in â10, they for the most part have to go back to lawyering or sell something in Podunk, the ultimate humiliation for someone who thought theyâd become a part of the DC establishment. more…..

Bob Weir: Will The Real Racists Please Stand Up
When a majority of voters elected the first African-American to the highest office in the land, one would have thought it was a positive sign that racism had been dealt a serious blow. After all, without millions of whites voting for Barack Obama he would have had no chance of being elected president. John McCain, his white opponent, lost the race, even though the overwhelming majority of voters are white. Hence, if racism were as prevalent as some race-baiters proclaim, President McCain would be occupying the White House right now. more…..

Wizbang: Another Distortion and Attempt to Defend ACORN by Attacking the Messenger
Geez, this one wasn’t even thinly disguised. I don’t know how often Media Matters does this kind of thing because I almost never read them, but I found a link to one of their posts at Digg and clicked on it because the title (Will Fox News hold Beck to its Dan Rather standard?) made me curious. …..When I watched the video Media Matters ran I immediately knew what was up because they chopped Beck’s commentary to bits and curiously left out the part of it that completely contradicts their claim. I looked for the Beck video at YouTube to make sure I was not misremembering his commentary and here is a transcript of what I found. more…..
