Rep Steve King (R-IA) is calling for a second Capitol ‘house call’ on Saturday 11/7/09 in an attempt to stop Pelosicare from passing the house.
As of right now, Nancy Pelosi does not have the votes she needs to get her 1,990 page bill ( download here ) through the house. A combination of Tuesday’s elections (where Republicans slaughtered Obama in VA and NJ), dwindling public support, yesterday’s protest at the Capitol by upwards of 10,000 people and today,s new unemployment numbers have made the Blue Dogs and other Democratic congressmen/women very, very nervous about their future and what may happen to it if they continue to support this bill. This is in addition to those Democrats who oppose it for other reasons.
At the same time, Nancy Pelosi is doing everything she can – twisting arms, promising favors, whatever it takes – to coerce their vote from them.
The main difference between Pelosi and us in regards to the wavering congressmen – besides the fact that she’s both batshit crazy and pure evil – is that she cant fire them. We can, and we need to make sure they understand that in no uncertain terms.
I know this is a tremendous amount to ask in light of so many of you making the trip to DC just a day ago, but this is that important.
Here’s Rep. King’s press release:
