Let me be clear, Rasmussen is only one poll.
And check out these historical comparisons.

Good lord, Gateway Pundit has become part of First Things? Once upon a time First things was a reputable blog for thoughtful conservatives with a religious/philosophical perspective who knew how to examine a question from both sides and had some measure of respect for their opponents. Some of my favourite conservative Catholics used to hang out there. Now its just part of the RW echo chamber. RIP to a great site.
A couple of things:
Regarding “some measure of respect for their opponents”, one of the left’s great accomplishments over the past 40 years has been decimation of civil discourse. While Jim Hoft’s articles may not always be the manifestation of a cool head, I’m not sure the left as any standing to call him on it.
There are still plenty of ‘thoughtful conservatives’, although my experience has been that a liberal’s definition of ‘thoughtful’ is more often than not ‘he who agrees with me’.
I did enjoy the ‘echo chamber’ comment though, inaccurate as it was. Because, you know, everyone else was talking about fistgate…

True that, but A) Rasmussen is pretty damn accurate, and b) he’s been down significantly in pretty much every major poll….which is more than one
The link you provided gave the overall highs and lows of entire presidencies….and while I think we can use that list to compare Obama’s numbers when he’s out of office, they don’t mean much right now.
A little more relevant might be the fact that as of a couple of weeks ago, Zero had the distinction of being the lowest-rated president ever at this point in his presidency according to Gallup.
Although he is back up to 51% as of today, again according to Gallup – which you have to admit has treated him well – it’s not going to last, especially with the stink that’s rolling down from capitol hill this week.
In closing, I would just like to say that this has truly been unprecedented, but the time for talk is over…
